VMware Horizon Client for Windows 10 UWP makes it easy to work on your VMware Horizon virtual desktop and hosted applications from a wide variety of Windows 10 devices, giving you on-the-go access from any location. IMPORTANT NOTE: A VMware Horizon virtual desktop or hosted application is required to use the VMware Horizon Client for Windows 10. Warning: Do not use Virtual Desktop with more than 2 monitors. Doing so will cause the system to crash and will require assistance from the Help Desk or EDS to remedy.
Web Browser
Print format: Accessing Virtual Desktop
- Open the web browser and type in the address:
- AMC Customers: desktop.medical.washington.edu
- Select the option on the right 'VMWare Horizon View HTML Access'
- Login on the next screen with your AMC credentials.
- Select the correct Domain
- Select the correct Domain
- Click on the desired pool name. If you only have one pool available to you, select that one.
- Your desktop will launch at this time.
VMware Horizon Client
The client can be installed on your personal computer/laptop or your office computer/laptop.
- Open the web browser and type in the address:
- AMC Customers: desktop.medical.washington.edu
- Select the option on the left ' Install VMware Horizon Client'
- Select Yes.
- Select ‘Go to Downloads' for the client that works with your setup.
- Windows 7 or 10 select VMware Horizon Client for windows (Do not select VMware Horizon client for Windows 10 UWP)
- Mac select VMware Horizon Client for Mac
- Select download then Run.
- Select Accept to agree to the installation.
- Click Finish then ‘Restart Now' to complete the installation.
- The installation is now completed.
- Start the application by double clicking on the icon
- Enter the Server name:
- AMC Customers: desktop.medical.washington.edu
